Killcare Season 2006-2007 Highlights

Killcare SLSC had another successful season in both the nipper, cadet and senior ranks in the 06/07 season.  Killcare’s main aim is to provide a safe beach for members of the public to enjoy. To do this Killcare relies on its members to constantly train and achieve seek higher awards under our Chief Instructor  in the surf lifesaving movement. Another area we focus on is a Rookie and Cadet programs to give the young people of the area some where they can enjoy all that the surf life saving movement has to offer.

One of the success stories at Killcare has been yearly road trip to Crowdy Head surf club on the mid north coast of NSW. On this trip club members interact with cadet members of Crowdy Head and also participate in team building and personnel growth activities.

Another success for Killcare has been the success of our beach competitors over the last 6 years winning numerous Branch, State National and World Beach relays at a senior level. This season through the coaching of our sprint coach and the leader ship of our senior competitors our u/15 and u/17s beach team have been successful at branch and state levels. Also for the first time in years Killcare also has a surf boat crew in training for next season.

Next season Killcare members are eagerly awaiting the commencement of our new club house to replace the existing building that has served its members for the past 40 odd years. With the new building existing and new members will have a place where they will be able to gather, train and perform their lifesaving duties in a modern and up to date building with the a training room, gymnasium and equipment storage rooms to enable the club to run in a more proficient and safe members to protect the beach public.
